Ashley Tisdale (and her paparazzi entourage) Pays Us a Visit

Word around the office is that I'm a 16-year-old girl trapped in an adult's body. My obsession with the Twilight tween book series, the fact that I don't miss an episode of The Secret Life of the American Teen and my love of fashionable yet affordable Forever 21 apparel all support this theory. There is one other small detail that I've kept quiet from my office friends, for fear of never ending ridicule—I once stayed home on a Friday night to watch High School Musical. Yes, I moved the coffee table out of my living room so I could dance my heart out while Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), and Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) showed off the steps to their hit song "We’re All in This Together". So having Ashley Tisdale visit our L.A. office was quite a treat for me.

The adorable 23-year-old arrived wearing acid washed jeans, flat sandals and carrying a gorgeous brown leather Prada bag and she was ready for some major girl talk. We found out that the New Jersey native moved to Valencia, California when she was 12 and that one of her first jobs in high school was working at the trendy clothing boutique Wet Seal. These days, Tisdale’s hard pressed to find a major mall outside of L.A. where she can shop without getting bombarded by adoring fans. Working on her second album, doing press for High School Musical 3 and shopping a new TV show around Hollywood are just a few of the things keeping this newly-brunette actress busy. Still, she does confess to finding time for her true guilty pleasure—reality TV. She’s an avid watcher of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Girls Next Door and even hung out at the Playboy Mansion with Hef and the bunnies for a movie night soiree. Her love of TV must have come from her mom because Tisdale let it slip that she’s named after the character Ashley from the daytime soap The Young and the Restless.

When it came time for Ashley to say goodbye, the paparazzi were waiting for her in a swarm outside our office. We offered to sneak her out the back door, but she’s pretty used to this type of entourage. Photogs are constantly waiting outside her home, ready to follow her around the city. She shared some of the tricks she uses to get away from the lenses, but we won’t share that info or she may never be able enjoy a pedicure in L.A. again!—Cortney Pellettieri
