I am not one to drive fast on L.A.'s congested freeways, but get me on an open racetrack in a brand new Dodge Challenger and I will put the pedal to the metal. I wasn't the only car junkie who made the trek to Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamand, CA to test out the new car. My fellow drag racers included Rob Lowe, Luke Wilson, David Spade, Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim and Brad Paisley, Carmen Electra, Audrina Partridge, Snoop Dogg and Chace Crawford, who went straight to the cars to check them out. Finally, it came time to race, but some of the girls had one problem--their shoes! Like the fashionistas they are Michelle, Kim and Carmen had all worn heels to the event. While Michelle borrowed a pair of sneakers, the others contemplated what to do. "It will be sexier if I drive in these," Carmen laughed about her Jenni Kayne pumps. Lucky for me, I had on boots!

Car enthusiast Rob Lowe took his first heat very seriously, "I picked the person I was most likely to beat; David Spade. And I was right, I beat him by half off the line. And his car was faster," Lowe bragged. "I want to keep my winning streak alive!" But no one was more pumped up than Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford, who found the driving way more thrilling than the helicopter ride he took to the track from L.A. "I am basically the best one here," he joked. “I drove the pearl orange Dodge. It got me going and my heart racing. I got up to 90 mph." 
Remind me never to race Chace--though I am sure it won't be a problem for me to spot him and the others on the road back in Hollywood since they all got to take home a new 2009 Dodge Charger in the color of their choice. Which one did Michelle Trachtenberg pick? "The black. Classic, silently sexy, but very, very powerful." she purred.--Karen Levy
